The purpose of Good Shepherd LWML is to serve the Lord through Christian service, paying special attention to missions and Christian fellowship among the women of the congregation. Women meet regularly for Bible study and fellowship (check the calendar for meeting times) and participate in the Northeast Georgia Zone, and Florida-Georgia District LWML events, partnering with other LWML women across our state, district and internationally.
The group is part of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), the official women’s auxiliary of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), which seeks to develop and maintain a mission consciousness among women through education, inspiration, and service. A major emphasis of their ministry is the support of mission and ministry throughout the world by means of mite box offerings (from the biblical account of the widow’s mite in Luke 21:1-4). The Mite box offerings are gathered at our regular meetings and proceeds are
turned over to the district and international LWML to fund mission grants all over the world.
